The morning of the general meeting consisted mainly of reports from the board of directors (regrettably without Andreas Herzau), the supervisory board and the agency, and these made it clear that laif is about to set foot on a new path.
The afternoon was open to the public and offered an open stage programme for everyone. For the first time, not only the laif community met, but also external guests from the media, education and corporate sectors enriched the event.
The three photographers Maria Feck, Aliona Kardash and Helena Manhartsberger presented chapters of their works, all of them touching, showing new forms of narration, and they received much appreciation from the audience.
The closing keynote on non-profit journalism by David Schraven, founder and CEO of Corrective, was entertaining as well as to the point, encouraging laif to “think different”. How perfectly it fits to this time of upheaval.
The evening was far too short for the many personal conversations, but the exchange was always inspiring. Thanks to everyone for suggestions, praise, good criticism and the loyalty of so many years.
Many thanks to the Board of Directors and the Supervisory Board of the cooperative for the good and trusting cooperation!
Sincerely
Silke Frigge
