The »Homo Mobilis« project views the vehicle as a mirror of our society. Mass motorization in the 20th century shaped our world, but with the end of the combustion engine, a new era of mobility is beginning. Against this backdrop, the project examines how the relationship between humans and vehicles is changing and how mobility shapes identity and social structures.

The result is a typology of vehicles and their drivers against a white background. Photographer Martin Roemers has deliberately used decontextualization to draw attention to the stories behind the images. After all, vehicles are much more than just a means of transport. They are an expression of status, culture, and personality.
