The opening on Friday evening was addressed by Katja Keul, Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office, Maksym Yemelianov, envoy of the Ukrainian Embassy, and Claudia Major, political scientist at the Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik. The keynote speaker was laif photographer Andy Spyra, who gave an insight into the work of a crisis photographer. On Saturday, Andy then delved deep into the act of witnessing and recording history in his workshop. The workshop taught some of the key elements of writing history with the camera.
