Photographers in Germany were invited to show their view of our democracy via an open call. How do they envision an open, inclusive, democratic society? A selection of the submitted photographs will be presented as part of the campaign.
#ReframeGermany means regaining sovereignty over the interpretation of our open society and democracy. Right-wing extremists and populists pursue a policy of exclusion and marginalization and hijack concepts such as cohesion, tolerance, freedom, homeland and family – values that define our coexistence. The campaign resolutely opposes these developments.
As the laif photo agency, we are proud that seven of the selected photographers come from our network. Their work exemplifies a modern, diverse and inclusive view of our world. With their cameras, they not only document current events, but also change the visual language of reporting.
