Can Germany become a military power again?

The New York Times Magazine asked this question and commissioned Ingmar Björn Nolting to visit the troops. A year after Chancellor Scholz’s turn-of-the-century speech, everyone is asking, what has happened, what has changed in the Bundeswehr? Under Christine Lambrecht, at the time of laif photographer Nolting’s visit still Minister of Defense, apparently according to many observers, not much. Now Boris Pistorius is supreme commander, and there seems to be movement in the matter.

Ingmar Björn Nolting visited the German army at the open day in Warendorf. In addition to a competition of the reservists, equipment and weapons of the armed forces were exhibited.
